If you are like me you have come to love what Google Fonts has to offer and implementing them is very easy.

A couple of points though. First the link that Google gives you to use is missing the / at the end of the closing tag so that’s just not on.

More importantly though the url they give you won’t work over ssl in modern browsers. If you inspect the network tab in Chrome Developer tools (or Firefox) and filter by fonts you will see that, given the default link Google have provided, your font will be nowhere to be seen over an SSL connection and will not render on the page.

To fix this just remove the http: so it looks like this:

Now your font will work over http or https
